Clara_Schumann

This piece will bring beauty and joy for the audience – has written Clara Schumann in her notes on the Piano Concerto in A minor which, of course, was composed for Clara by her husband, having in mind her outstanding pianist qualities.

Robert Schumann was working on this piece intermittently, for several years; the premiere of the entire, completed concerto was held in the ceremonial hall of the Hotel de Saxe in Dresden, on December 4th, 1845. Clara, the soloist of the concert was celebrated by the audience and the press, not only in Dresden: the premiere was followed by amazingly successful performances in Leipzig, Prague and Vienna, always with Clara Schumann as the soloist, at the top of her career.
On February 10th, the Piano Concerto in A minor will be played by Balázs Fülei and the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy, conducted by Tamás Vásáry.

The concert will be broadcasted live on Radio Bartók.
